No Dog and Pony Show

Today we took a trip back in time to when Mandy started doing the tarot for complete strangers. She felt that she had to prove herself to be a psychic by not asking any questions or giving any information. We talk about how that is so unfair to yourself and to your client. If you go to the doctor, you don’t just say, “you’re the doctor, figure out what is wrong with me!” You let the doctor know what is going on so that he has a starting point to diagnos your symptoms. Today’s podcast is about how to talk to your client, how important communication is, and how to overcome the psychological hurdle of having to appear “psychic”. Many clients have specific questions. Even if you can tell them all sorts of information that can blow their mind, the most important thing to do is to answer that specific question. There is no such thing as a mind reader! The cards are generic images. Without giving them structure with questions, they will give generic answers. Without communication, your reading will be mediocre at best. Divianation does not replace common sense. It gives information for you to use with your knowledge to help events go smoothly. Just like any other profession, we have to understand the client’s needs. Don’t be pressured into the dog and pony show of believing you need to be a mind reader. And don’t be afraid of looking “stupid” by asking your clients questions! You’ll have a much more comprhensive tarot reading. Join Mandy, Sharon, and I to learn how to overcome this enormous hurdle that stunts the growth of so many tarot readers! Thanks for being here 🙂 And don’t forget, the free tarot lessons are now available at houseofwhite.net !
